The Cottage was commissioned by the Marquis of Bute back in 1822 and has seen a few changes over the years.
BEFORE
BUILD
The “Dead Space” outside the kitchen window to the rear was a dark and damp place and was even unsuitable for plants. When looking at the property it was obvious that this space should be added to the footprint. A double storey extension was constructed transforming the house from “L” shaped, to a square.
Sunlight was limited in this area so windows were added along the extension to maximise the light in both the bedroom and the kitchen.
AFTER
One of the things we enjoy most at O’Brien Construction is finding a good piece of old furniture and adding it to the new. Old pieces of furniture add a certain depth, and character to a room.
